Composer’s Note

For You — written for someone that I don’t know if they exist or not yet. An intimate string quartet, with second movement featuring variations.

This was written in a period of time when I could not find inspiration or any ideas for melody, but I’ve always had the title idea of “For You”. But miraculously, the melody of the first movement came to me on my way to submit my chemistry midterm haha. This piece was written for my MUS 30.02 Film Scoring class at Dartmouth, taught by Professor Dong, and recorded by the Del Sol Quartet (however, rendering below is with NotePerformer — please contact me if you would like a sample of the professional recording).
